DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLBEING

Our priority is to ensure our employees’ safety at all times at work. We maintain a comprehensive Workplace Health and Safety Management System WHSMS which supports a robust safety culture. Key areas of our WHSMS include training, supervision, consultation with employees, and the elimination and mitigation of workplace hazards.

We provide induction training covering all aspects of health and safety to ALL employees.

Our full-time Work Health and Safety WHS team conduct daily safety inspections covering operational changes and improvements to work methods, systems, plants, and equipment to eliminate or mitigate risks of workplace injury.

We maintain on-site soft tissue injury treatment facilities and a rehabilitation team which promotes injury prevention and carefully manages and supervises any injured staff returning to work after recovery. We also offer a range of wellbeing services and programs to our employees.

TRAINING

We offer both formal and informal learning opportunities for our employees at our Kilcoy plant and Birtinya head office.

Our Learning team conduct training across all areas to ensure our employees have a good understanding of our policies and procedures across Safety, Quality, Environment and expectations relating to our Values. We provide on the job training for employees on how to perform specific tasks and we also work in partnership with training providers to offer formal learning opportunities based on role requirements.

All Kilcoy Global Foods Australia (KGF Australia) feedlot partners and station agents are accredited under the National Feedlot Accreditation Scheme.

By selecting these feedlots, we ensure that we are receiving livestock from suppliers who can demonstrate a high commitment to animal welfare, environmental protection, meat quality, and food safety.

We have a strong commitment to maintaining the highest standards of animal welfare. KGF Australia is certified under the Australian Livestock Processing Industry Animal Welfare Certification System or (AAWCS).

We also hold a certificate issued by AUS-MEAT stating that we have effectively maintained documented procedures, facilities and practices relating to the AUS-MEAT Animal Welfare Certification Program for Livestock Processing Establishments.

As part of our commitment to animal welfare, we continue to look for innovative solutions in animal welfare above and beyond industry standard.
